After our beautiful wedding in Laguna Beach, we decided to continue the "beach" theme and continue our celebration on the wonderful island of Kauai in Hawaii.

After asking around, we took some advice from Aaron and booked a room at the Kiahuna Plantation on Poipu Beach. He and his family had been going there for years and years so we knew that his suggestions would be spot on... and they were.

We had a ball doing everything from lounging on the beach drinking Mai-Tais and eating the delicious local fare to more exciting activities like a helicopter ride around the island and scuba diving. We even were lucky enough to find a rope swing where locals and tourists alike hurl themselves off of cliffs thanks to a suggestion from Ken & Kier who had their honeymoon in Kauai less than a year before.

We did some other typical touristy stuff like attend a luau and visit a farmers market for local fruits and veggies which were both pretty awesome. We even snorkeled with the sea turtles! Honestly, I can't think of any aspect of the trip that wasn't enjoyable. The obvious downfall, however, was having to come home. We were in Hawaii for just shy of two weeks. Next time, I think we'll have to double it... at least.

One thing that is for sure is that we WILL be revisiting Kauai and hopefully Poipu Beach. Hopefully, very soon.
