As cheese-ball as this video is, I love it. Man, I would love to have a standup arcade like this with hundreds of old classics on it. When I worked at Alena for a short bit, they had a similar arcade set up in their break room.

I was... less-than-productive some days when I felt the need to play Gauntlet or Asteroids.

New Portfolio Item - Mayer Mangan, PLC

It is about time I post this! I finished off a job for a law firm down in San Diego several months ago and FINALLY put it in with the rest of my work of my portfolio. Check it out! I had a great experience working with the Mayer Mangan firm and, as usual, I learned a lot in the process. Most notable is that the site runs on my own custom-built CMS (content management system). They are able to control all of the content without ever having to contact me or another developer. Yay!

Grand Lake Retreat

Last weekend we headed up to Grand Lake with some close friends to have fun in the snow and spend some quality time together. The Seybolds, the Wallaces and the Finns went up on Friday afternoon with the combined SEVEN little girls. Wow. Although we ran into a few problems along the way like a boiler that was on the fritz and a small fender bender on the way back, it was a tremendous trip. We are so blessed to have such great people surrounding us in our semi-new surroundings in Colorado. We're truly looking forward to many retreats like this with these special people!

Darn cool. Audi Canada, together with Toronto-based ad agency Zulu Alpha Kilo and Slot Mods USA have managed to use cars in a way that piqued my interest by building an iPad-controlled test track. The best part? Players get a driver-perspective point of view of the RC cars in action in real time.

Hexels: Settlers of Catan Magnets?

There are certainly quite a few Kickstarter projects that I want to support. This one stuck out to me for a number of reasons. Catan is an AWESOME board game. If you don't already own it, I highly recommend it. So great! The problem that this project points out is certainly viable. The board, like most board games that have loose pieces making up a board, tends to not stay together. This is exceptionally true in a heated battle! After reading this you might think I'm one of the folks forking over $35 for a set of 19 tiles. NOPE! I'm cheap, baby! And pieces moving isn't a dealbreaker for fun.
