I can still remember hearing With Or Without You playing from behind the wall that separated my bedroom and my sister's. I wasn't into what she listened to. I had my own style and thought adamently that anything she liked was 'lame' or 'wussy'. U2's Joshua Tree broke through to me, and it broke through hard. This new music was different. It actually made me feel passionate about music. It made me passionate about this music. To this day, I don't have many albums that fill me like this one does. It is truly one of the greatest masterpieces that has ever been created.
To think that the Joshua Tree has been out for 25 years is astounding to me. Some music just never gets rusty, never feels old. Thank you U2 for giving us such great music over the years. Your new stuff is even still pretty good.
If any of you out there are still missing this wonder in your collection, get off your ass and get to buying. It will change you...
I know what album I'm going to have on repeat for the rest of the day. Ahhh, and on a wonderful Friday to boot. Life is grand!
