Starbucks - Hilarity

It happens every year. Companies around the interwebs put together silly homepages and news posts every April 1^st in an attempt to stump and amuse visitors. I enjoy going to my favorite sites and seeing what they come up with. This year, Kathy found this gem on Starbucks' site. Pretty funny, yet not too far from what I really want. Give me a half-gallon of delicious Joe? Yes please!

Hard Ticket to Hawaii

This movie clip from the 1985 movie "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" is one of the most random I have ever seen. I may have to pick this up in the 99¢ bin. If I did, I would certainly be overpaying. Thanks to Sliozis for finding the IMDB page. Check out some of those CLASSIC quotes!

Read a beauty of a ditty over at A List Apart today about the war between Flash and HTML5. It is a great writeup because it speaks past the obvious argument or which is better as a content delivery system. “It’s about preference and politics. It’s an arms race. This is the Cold War of the Web.” Read on designers, it will fill your Friday with goodness.

Adobe Creative Suite 5 Launch

On April 12th, 2010, Adobe will be releasing it's newest version of the Creative Suite. I'm not entirely sure what they will be putting into this release but I'm sure that it will be jaw-dropping... not. Too often, releases come out and demand a huge upgrade price-tag so that you don't get left in the dust. If the truth were told, the upgrades, in my opinion, are almost always completely not worth it. A new tool? A new tools palette? Cool! Almost $600 for it? That's just a big FU to loyal customers. Of course, I'm saying all of this before actually seeing the new features. Who knows? Maybe this time it will be different. Just don't be surprised if I'm not holding my breath.

Plants vs. Zombies

If only gardening were this much fun! In this game from PopCap Games, you are tasked with defending your house and brain from an onslaught of zombies with only what you can plant in your backyard. Choose wisely from an assortment of plants that can catapult watermelons, shoot peas or explode on contact. As my beautiful wife can attest, I am hooked on this game and can't get enough. Trust me, if you want a little timewaster for your iPhone when you are wating in a line at the DMV, this one will be all you need. Online it is free but at $2.99 for the iPhone app, it is still a steal. Get yours today. Oh, for those of you unlucky enough to be on another device, you can still play PvZ online for free. Awesome!
