Ceramic Therapy
I grew up in a very creative community in southern Orange County. During that time, I was exposed to a slew of art programs that have been influential in getting me to where I am now creatively. I tinkered with clay and wheels as most kids from an early age but it wasn't until I was starting high school that I first enrolled in a class and fell in love. Ceramics was messy, beautiful, therapeutic and tactile.

I think it is mostly due to it's tactile characteristics that have kept me coming back through the years. After I left high school and made my way towards the digital arts I soon found that the lack of working with my hands to create was truly saddening. I decided at that point to use some of my electives to enroll into the UCLA Arts Department and take as many ceramics classes as they would let me take. The experience as well as the art department were wonderful. It taught me that I would always yearn to create with my hands and that ceramics was the perfect tactile art for me.

Now that I am WAY out of school, I continue to try out and use local ceramics studios. I have found some great, some not so great places to make a mess. All in all, it has been wonderful. At some point (hopefully soon) I will be able to get my own house where I can put in a studio of my own, put in a kiln & wheel and go to town whenever I want.

The only issue I see is that I just might produce too much stuff. Want a plate? A bowl? A vase? You name it, I can make it happen. I just hope you won't have to wait too long.

A small collection of works from the last 15 or so years:
