This purchase was an automatic. Although their albums in the last 20 years don't hold a candle to some of their true classic albums, I still get a lot out of each. Love Rush. Hopefully I will be able to see them live again soon.

Snakes & Arrows
Format:
DigitalGenre / Style:
One of the last Rush albums to come out (I think it was, at least). Surprisingly good. I'm just like everybody else who thinks old albums are better than new albums for bands spanning decades. Truth be told, Rush could always put out great tunes.

The new album was a surprise to me. Still good after all of these years. No By-Tor by any means but still good.

Great live album. I'm not sure if I fully understood that I was buying a live album when I picked this up. So many hits! Back to back!

Test for Echo
Format:

Didn't get as much play as the rest of the Rush albums. That being said, I'd never get rid of it, and I still listen to it. Don't hate me!

I remember buying this CD in Palo Alto. It was raining, and I needed something to listen to as we drove around while visiting my cousins. This album, as you can tell, still has a special place in my heart. It scratches those memories fresh every time!

Roll the Bones
Format:
DigitalGenre / Style:
Filling out the collection of Rush albums. This one should be the last sans any new albums they may release.

Chronicles
Format:
CDGenre / Style:
I think this was the first Rush album I ever purchased. I can still see the double CD case that I hauled around to always have it close. Being that it was 2 CDs, I think that kept me from needing to buy more Rush releases. We eventually caught up, don't worry.

A Show of Hands
Format:
DigitalGenre / Style:
I was going through my old Rush albums and found that I only had a crappy burned version of this album. What a travesty! Thank you, ITMS (iTunes Music Store).

Hold Your Fire

Another must-have Rush album. This makes #16 for me, haha. Yes, they are all must-haves.

Power Windows

I found a Rush album I didn't own. Hence, had to buy it. Has Mystic Rythms and Manhattan Project on it. Tasty!

Grace Under Pressure
Format:
CDGenre / Style:
This isn't the first album I reach for when I want to get my Rush fix, by any means. Still good though. I should spend some more time with this album. 80's Rush! What could go wrong?

Exit... Stage Left
Format:
CDLPGenre / Style:
Not just one of the best live albums of all time, but certainly one of the best albums of all time, period. I love this in all formats, but my old, worn vinyl version has a special place in my heart.

Moving Pictures

CDLPGenre / Style:
Arguably their best effort. It's just so good. As I write this, I'm planning on going over and pulling out the LP to be ready to go tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be amazing!

Permanent Waves

I didn't think too much of this album until Dan opened my eyes to it. I can still hear him explaining to me how amazing the slow lead-in to Natural Science was at the end of the album. He was NOT wrong. That song rocks so hard!

Hemispheres
Format:
CDGenre / Style:
This is a dork/nerd dream come true. The Trees is basically straight out of The Lord of the Rings (for me). I love all the fantasy in this album.

A Farewell to Kings
Format:
CDGenre / Style:
Incredible album. Made in the year of my birth. Celebrate! Every song on this album is perfection. Don't believe me? Follow the streaming links and check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Fly By Night

By-Tor & the Snow Dog... that's an actual song on an album that got released. Rush is so wacky, I can't help but love them forever and ever.
